DELI DEPARTMENT MANAGER As the Deli Department Manager, you will lead your team in the execution of protocols and procedures of all corporate deli programs while delivering excellent Customer Service while serving and offering the highest quality of food. Responsibilities: Oversee the buying from authorized Vendors, maintain the Department in an in-stock position, manages department Inventory levels and ordering frequency. Commitment to maintaining merchandising and operational standards. Direct and coordinate the activities involved with the production and sale of Deli Product, ensuring product quality and freshness. Accountable for departmental financial objectives including budgeted sales, gross profit and contribution. Lead, coach and motivate team members to improve productivity and customer engagement and loyalty. Assist with interviews and selection of candidates. Train, evaluate and coach new team members to success. Ensure that all new department associates receive proper training and supervision. Ensure proper costing, receiving, storage, rotation of merchandise and building of displays. Determines variety and quantity to be produced according to sales projections and production planning standards. Maintains a well-stocked and well merchandised department while controlling shrinkage and discards. Uphold all standards pertaining to cleanliness and Food Safety by maintaining a safe, clean and well organized working and shopping environment. Comply with all occupational safety and health regulations and report any deficiencies to Store Management. Create a schedule to maximize productivity to meet peak sales opportunities and to meet the needs of the department. Keep store leadership informed of all events that affect the department. Ensure that product mix meets varied customer needs and requests. Attend all team and store meetings. Qualifications: Minimum Grade 12 education Two years of retail deli experience Solid leadership and people development skills Strong merchandising skills Food Safe Certified Understanding of inventory processes Must be able to work with specialized kitchen and deli equipment Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs repeatedly Individuals who apply for management opportunities at the Langdon, Alberta location may be eligible for relocation options depending on previous experience.
