This position is responsible for client relations, sales and developing short and long term inputs for marketing of the Transportation services. Using knowledge of the business and close interaction with internal stakeholders and key customers, this position will specify the opportunities for current and future projects as well as recommend solutions to customer needs and issues. The incumbent will attend industry meeting and events representing our clients business and ensure that close relationships are maintained with the market (customers, evaluators, potential customers) for awareness of needs and perspectives. The Sales Manager has the responsibility to conduct market research supported by on-going visits to customers and non-customers. The Sales Manager will work with decision makers in marketing communications and sales management to ensure that all services are correctly communicated to the market. The Sales Manager will also be responsible for identifying objectives, strategies and action plans to improve short- and long-term sales and earnings.
Key Responsibility Areas:
Develop specific plans to ensure revenue growth in all company services.
Be involved in securing supplier of choice contracts.
Develop a division specific go-to-market plan and work with management to execute.
Facilitate growth and expansion of company services by actively acquiring new business, calling upon relationships from your previous roles.
Consulting with clients on freight solutions, and ultimately closing the deal.
Develop new opportunities, increasing equipment utilization and revenues.
Develop a business plan and sales strategy for the market that ensures attainment of company goals.
Prepare action plans by individuals as well as by team for effective search of sales leads and prospects.
Initiate and coordinate development of action plans to penetrate new markets.
Assist in the development and implementation of marketing plans as needed.
Resolve customer complaints regarding sales and service.
Monitor customer preferences to determine focus of sales efforts.
Direct and coordinate activities involving sales of services.
Liaise with customers including closing sales.
Maintain detailed knowledge of the company’s products and services.
Gather requirements from prospects, evaluators and customers, and use those inputs to lead sales prioritization plans.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Post-secondary education (Journeyman trade or Business degree preferred)
7+ years experience in sales combined with a proven track record of success.
Superior communication skills (verbal and written
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to write clear market-driven sales plans.
Excellent organizational, analytical and negotiation skills.
Strong in building relationships and able to communicate at all levels.
Strong existing customer base.
Seasoned sales representative preferably in the Transportation and logistics industry.
Demonstrated ability to meet or beat assigned targets and deadlines consistently.
Strong understanding of our customer and market dynamics and requirements.
Possess expert knowledge of Transportation Services in the Oil & Gas Industry.
